Mapping (create orienteering maps)
Being out there and doing the fieldwork for a new orienteering map ends most of the time as a demanding task.
My basic equipment today consists of a laser distance meter from Leitz and a special compass having a built in prism which allows for quick and accurate reading of the direction. After more than 10 o-maps finished I have improved my tools to all weather conditions (except for me as a human ;-).
After finishing the field work next comes the drawing of the map which is done on the computer nowadays (no more ink pens ;-).
